MEKONG AGE
Band
The band Mekong Age, which is dedicated to melodic, progressive heavy metal, was founded in 2019 and took its name from former singer Wolfgang Borgmann (Mekong Delta) and guitarist, songwriter and sound engineer Arthur Bulach - they met and were immediately on the same wavelength.
In 2021, rhythm guitarist Alfred Tietz (Crossbow, No Fishing) joined the band, followed by bassist Ludger "Lulle" Küperkoch (Crypt, Lux Serpent) in 2022. In 2023, Mekong Age was completed with new singer Kim Janine "KJ" Heinzerling and drummer Christos Efthymiadis (Tri State Corner, Rage, Sub7even) in 2025.
What is on offer is sophisticated metal, spiced with elements of nu metal, pounding grenades and power metal attacks, presented on a sound carpet of the rhythm section Christos, Alfred and Lulle. All this is garnished with KJ's charismatic voice and Arthur's crying to screaming, but always melodic guitar work.
